David V. 'PEP' Bye, 83, of Northfield, died Sunday at his home. He was an officer with the Atlantic City Police Department for 35 years before his retirement. Mr. Bye enjoyed sports. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Born in Newtown, Pa., he has resided in Northfield since 1935.

Surviving are his wife Florence; two sons, Allen of Northfield, and Kirk of Egg Harbor Township; and five grandchildren.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Jeffries and Keates Funeral Home, Tilton Road and Infield Avenue, Northfield where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Laurel Memorial Park in Pomona.
